At Garður in Iceland, the lighthouse rises above windblown grasses. Sunset light illuminates the foreground and meets the cooler tones of sky and sea, in a landscape suspended between warmth and silence.
This photograph began with a desire to capture an atmosphere: the solitary lighthouse, the open coastline and light that can change the way a place is perceived. Colour guides the eye and conveys the stillness of the Icelandic landscape.
An image for those who love northern landscapes and want to bring a luminous presence into their home, alongside natural materials and neutral tones.
